Just watching it rain. At least with all the rain my mud isn't dehydrated. (7+"

I loaded 650 .38 caliber T7 rounds over the weekend for use in my open tops.  Plan on loading the same amount of 44-40 Pinnacle rounds by the end of the week as my Drs appointments allow.  That ought to enable me to shoot a few SASS Matches.

It was a good day shooting with the wife and a buddy who may not be around that many more years.

Camping with the Scouts.  Five inches of rain Thursday night meant the lake crested just short of our campsite.

Shot my two flintlock pistols, using some of the goodies I got from DD4 a month ago, i.e. prelubed patches, Arkansas flint, cleaning brushes and bore butter. The pistols are both originals, one English .60 and one French .56. Pics will be posted under "Show us your flintlocks"

Had a Dr. appointment for lab work for my up-coming surgery. When I got home, my wife (RN) asked me what I thought of the MRSA swab. When I told her they didn't do one, she looked at the print out of my lab summary where it said it had been done. She got on the phone and called them on it, had to make the 40 mile, one hour round trip again. When I got there, the nurse came right out and did the swab. That only took 5 minutes from when I arrived. They did give us a $25.00 gas card for the inconvenience. Still, a PIA.

Won't happen again, now that they know your wife is an RN

Yep, the nurse just missed seeing the order, or thought the lab would do it.

I keep getting worried about the now a days lax attitude of people who are expected to be highly trained professionals. Do they no longer use check lists?

Teaching my kid to make cheesecake.

Requires Nilla wafers, butter, sugar, eggs, cream cheese, sour cream, corn starch, lime juice and Kraken rum.

Straightened out the butchered wiring on a lawnmower. Used toggle switches for two functions because the switches for those functions were bad.

Follow-up visit with the surgeon yesterday. Got some things done: removed the 38 staples, told me I no longer had to wear compression stockings ( both very welcome) and cut down my daily Tylenol prescribed use. Feeling a bit more comfortable today.
