I'm just sitting here. :D
Went to my warm pool arthritis exercise session today (3X a week) in the AM. This afternoon I gathered up a few guns and ammo and other stuff to take shooting with a friend tomorrow, got everything in the garage ready to go. Then got out the pop-up camper, put the wheel with new tire on, checked the other tire and spare. We will be going to a Memorial Service in N. Illinois over the weekend, kinda like a mini reunion with several good rendezvous friends.whereabouts in N. IL?
One of our wonderful truck mechanics destroyed our 3 year safety record the day before yesterday. This pinhead was drilling a hole through a piece of metal for a new tank. It kept flexing away from his drill bit, so he backed up the metal - WITH HIS FREAKIN' HAND! The drill bit went through the metal, and right through his hand. And then to prove his mental capacity, he pulled the drill back out, with it still running, which spooled up his tendons on the drill bit!
Went for a bike ride. Took lots of photos. Now I'm making hummingbird food. Eventually, I'll go have lunch with the wife.
You should have Straw Hat sharpen your mower blade. The job might go easier.I always just buy a new blade. Then I can save the old blade to make into a knife! L@.
mike116,
The angle of the second picture looks familiar. Haven't seen it in quite a few years but at one time I did a good bit of riding. Maybe I need to saddle up again.

My mother-in-law has a doctor's appointment today. She headed out the front door, then came right back in mumbling about needing a hat. Without even thinking about it, I said "You're really old. No one cares how big a rat's nest your hair is." There was a moment of horrified silence on her part before she rushed into the bathroom to check her hair.Freudian slip, eh Miner? :-X
I imagine I'll hear about this later from my wife, because her mommy won't say anything to me about it. She'll go scream at my wife about what a d*** I am.
Fingers, how do you like the Treso nipples?
We were going to build the new raised bed and finish the flagstone patio this morning. It was bright and sunny when we got up. Now it's pouring down cats and dogs.
Today I trimmed trees, rode my mountain bike and thought about Michelle Obama as Hillarys running mate.
(The first thing was productive, the second fun and the third was neither.)
Yesterday, we adopted a puppy.
Kevin
Well, I'm washing my Green Zombie Ford Truck. I'm putting some Zombie Stickers on it. ;)Zombie stickers on a zombie truck. A certain degree of symmetry there, preserves the unities sort of thing and all, I guess. It should look real nice with some stickers on it, a sort of 'fashion statement'.
Yesterday, we adopted a puppy.
Kevin
There are lots of types of puppies. Can you be a little specific....pictures...?
Talk about surreal...
Driving along earlier, and ended up behind a man who looked just like Mr. Clean, clothes and all. He was riding a bright yellow Vespa covered with red polka dots. Sticking up from the back of the seat is a four foot yellow pole on which is mounted a two foot clown head.

Dude, you are a mess!
Last evening I took Herself and Seamus to an obedience class. The pup had fun and the Mrs about wore herself out! Both slept well when we got home.
Kevin
Now that's an idea! I wonder if I can take Kimmy to a obedience school? *6'

You make Herself go to obedience class?!!!!!

My grand daughter was married yesterday in an outdoor ceremony. The locale was beautiful, on the groom's grandmother's farm. It has 7+ acres of prairie flower gardens with Blue Mounds in the background. Rain went around us....good news was that we got 1/4" of rain at home, 18 miles away. First of our grand children to be married, 10 to go!Congrats, Mazo! (7&
Got the day off today. My plans are to work in the garden and maybe clean out the vehicle. I need to clean and wax my sharpening machine also. Maybe get something cooked up to have for the rest of the week, I am thinking it is almost cool enough to make a pot of chili.
Now, to find out what Herself has planned for me.
Kevin
Hey now, I'm 66 yrs old...when I was growing up the front of a ball cap faced forward...I think Rooty Kazooty (old TV cartoon), wore it off to the side, but nobody wanted to be him. I'll just use more Krazy Glue next time. (7&Yeah, believe you're right about Rootie Kazootie, I think maybe Huntz Hall did that too? And MLB catchers, of course....
My day in a nutshell...Lift/unfold the boom until the bucket I'm in is sixty feet off the ground. Rotate the boom counter-clockwise until just before the bucket hits the power line. Lift the bucket until the bottom just clears the power line. Extend the upper boom full length, tilt the jib crane, then lower the bucket until it's on the other side of the power line. Rotate boom counter-clockwise until just before the bucket hits the pole. Rotate bucket ninety degrees so I can reach out just far enough to undo the cover on the 1500 watt flood light. Holding the cover with one hand so it doesn't drop on my coworkers down below, with the other hand unscrew a 2 foot long light bulb and maneuver it into the bucket. Still holding the cover, insert a new two-foot bulb and screw it in place one-handed. Carefully close cover and latch it in place then reverse the directions for getting up to the light fixture to get back to the ground. All this in 20 mile an hour winds.
...Trying to get back to "normal" whatever that is ... so I can now concentrate on getting back to regular things until the next crisis arises...
Thanks all, Mom and baby are doing fine.Great to hear that Mike.
Oh, Lord! The wife is hauling out the boxes of Christmas tree ornaments...Spent a couple hours on the roof stringing multi-colored lights. At least the snow is gone.....
Talk about startled. I was just out filling the bird feeders and had a Cooper's Hawk, or maybe a Sharp-shinned, nail a Eurasian Collared dove about five feet over my head. If I'd had my camera, I couldn't have reacted in time to take a photo.
Smoke it!! L@.
Well, I now have 25 pounds of top sirloin roast to do something with.Miner, whatever you do with it...I bet it will be GOOD! L@.
Yesterday, Herself and I went to the mall to see the Christmas decorations and listen to the music. How things have changed. The only decorations involved the area where you paid to visit with Santa and if there was any Christmas music, it was not loud enough to hear over the other crap blaring from the speakers.I heard a very nasty and depressing rumor from the Queen herownself today, Kevin...that the reason you don't see the decorations and Christmas music is because the major corporations have come under heavy fire from Muslims and non-Christians to tone it down and make it secular and all about the sales...and they've buckled, according to one of the major networks (she told me which but I forget?)
The shops did a great job of stuffing the aisles with enough crap it was hard for me to navigate with Herself and the wheelchair. I must say, it slightly stifled my mood!
Kevin
Ahh..another Classicalophile! Cool!Hey, since when did this turn into a classical music forum? Actually, I am glad to see that there are at least 3 of us classical music aficionados here. We enjoy lots of music, and have a large collection of classical music. We used to have the entire Ring Cycle on vinyl that was destroyed a few years ago in our internal flood disaster. I think I need to get that replaced!
I agree...Ride of the Valkyries will wake you up in the am!
Today, I am mourning the passing of Dale Griffin, aka Buffin, who was the drummer in Mott the Hoople, and died today at 67, after suffering several years from Alzheimer. You may add to that list today Glenn Frey, lead guitarist/vocalist for Linda Ronstadt and later, The Eagles.

It is nearly 2am. I have just returned from admitting Herself to the hospital again. It seems like I just did this. Most positive vibes headed your way. Please forward my best wishes.
Kevin
EM, what lens are you considering? It seems to me that you are very well equipped in that area now.
Keep up the good work, capt. We appreciate it.Thanks. You really gotta hate people whose only purpose in life is to ruin other people's lives.
not a whole lot hard to get around when you just get a couple of screws put in your foot. How are you supposed to clear TSA at the airport with them things? )lI
Well, I hope you complete a lot more. Congratulations on the 61 so far.
Looks like I passed the latest stress test. Final results to come later. MarkGood to hear! &\?
Headed to the Heritage Park zoo for a behind the scenes photographer's tour/shoot. Gonna get up close and personal with the critters.that sounds like fun
My best shooting buddy had a minor heart attack last Saturday and ended up in the hospital. They told him he was going to need a stent. Yesterday, he got mad at the hospital for something and checked himself out, went home, had another heart attack, got life-flighted to a different hospital, where they told him he now needs 2 stents, and a heart valve.
If he wasn't so sick right now, I'd kick his ass...
Hey BartSr, nice to hear from you. Glad you are feelin good enough to mess with your guns. Looks like the steel frame, fluted cylinder shorty was an 1861 Navy. How bad are the barrel and cylinder? Could they be rehabbed? As shown in an added picture to the original posting (above), the fluted cylinder has the flutes off center or rather rotated so that one side of each bore is thin, but seems ok. The barrel (marked 1862) has been shortened by about half to eliminate the worst of the pitting, along with a mod to the rammer slot.
Might be picking my new Springfield up early. Got told we have a bonus being paid on Friday. Just don't know how big it'll be.
Had my ankle give out and took a tumble fractured my elbow broke a rib and sprained my ankle.Well, that just sucks.
What a wonderful day yeaaaaaaaa lol hey gave me a reason to close up shop early and get out of the heat.
Loaded 300 rounds of T7 .38s to use in CAS match tomorrow.
...My wife, the building inspector, is pounding her head on her keyboard right now. The local zoo, which we are members of, just posted a bunch of photos of work they did - without permits...
Back from riding the Cumbres & Totlec Scenic RR today. Will be posting the best of the 2,135 photos the wife and I took.
No, seriously. I just downloaded them all to the laptop. We took 2,135 photos today.
Fingers crossed, we are putting in an offer on a house tonight.Best of luck, EM! That would be a heckuva Christmas present!
Fingers crossed, we are putting in an offer on a house tonight.
Went deer hunting in -2° F weather. It's ML season here; tagged a doe.Congrats, Dave...both on the doe, and having the balls to venture out in this @#%$! deep-freeze to bag her.
Replaced light fixture on one of ceiling fans.
Just got finished rehanging the florescent light fixture in the laundry room. Sometime during the night it just fell off the ceiling and was hanging by the romex. When the bozos built this house, they didn't install a junction box for the light. They just screwed the light fixture to the drywall ceiling with deck screws.Lot of that goin' around. The whole crew must have come here to build my house.
He threw up on the bed...I know, right? Then they give you that "look" and just walk away...."YOU clean it up, bitch!" (7+"

My employer recently announced a new move to "improve the company by investing in our people." They took the first step today by giving us all a tube of lip balm with the company's name on it.My...that was awful generous! :(
You can use them for ear plugs...
Hard boiled eggs........Now that sounds GOOD! L@.Yeah, OK Sammy. Just stay downwind, 'K?
I spent my day of mandatory vacation trying to get my car as spiffy as possible so I can sell it off. Having to trade it in and get a new car since the bottom motor mounts are decaying and the cost to fix will outweigh the value of the car. Feels a bit like putting lipstick on a tire fire but it can't hurt to spiffy up the inside of the car before trying to get an evaluation.
Hmmmm, welder setting himself on fire. That could cause an OSHA investigation. L@JIn the Wyatt Earp biography there's an episode about a deputy who shot a guy and set him on fire.

Well, today I woke up, fed my bird, fed me, played ham radio for awhile, ate lunch, sat down to think things out, answered this question, and that's about it for now. &\?What rock you been hiding under, Pustic? Long time no see!
Well, almost. There's about six inches of sludge and water in the bottom, but the fish have all been moved.

Not to busy of a day, Went to church and when I got home put the fifth wheel hitch in our new truck. Fooled around with some guns and restacked lead ingots, then sat on the front porch with a hot apple cider and watched to birds and people.
Finished dinner, played the piano a bit and now going to spend the evening in a good gun book
Nutin' yet, but yesterday I took my old 79 Harley out for a ride after tweakin' on him all winter...still more to go, but I got there and back safely!!!! Yer never too old to act young !!
Spent last week in New Mexico with my son and his family. I thought I would get lots of shooting in over 6 days. Not so... I fired a total of 15 rounds. I expected to shoot 1000 rounds or more. The ranch had a record setting dry winter and spring. No measurable moisture since February. A stage 3 fire ban is in effect which prohibits target shooting. The ban doesn't include private land but I'm not willing to take the risk, especially with black powder guns. There is nowhere to shoot without standing among the dried vegetation. I was disappointed to say the least.
Grabbing the buttermilk instead of the half and half to pour in your coffee is a serious mistake...
Shooting to smoke on the 16th. Then it has to be repacked and age for at least a week - so - the 23rd?
My good friend Suzanne who owns the cigar shop on Allen Street in Tombstone had her final interview and site evaluation for her FFL. She passed with flying colors. She'll be able to place her first wholesale order for BP revolvers in just a few weeks. She has an employee that is a a gunsmith and sold guns for many years. He's extremely knowledgeable and a great guy. Looking forward to buying guns with somebody else's money for a change. Now I just need to figure out a way to have some of them follow me home.... )
Since SW Airlines lost my luggage (it never did show up) with all of my very best cowboy regalia, I got to be the photographer. Wait until they get my bill! I'm glad I kept receipts for almost everything. Most items are irreplaceable....custom made stuff that I've had for years. Nothing looks more out of place than a period cowboy in brand new store bought clothes. Needless to say....I'm heart-broken over the entire thing.

Took the youngest to the range after church. His first time shooting an M-1 Carbine; he seemed to enjoy it. Then cheeseburgers and ice cream.
Just finished slicing 6 pounds of spiced coffee bacon and vacuum packing it in 1-lb. packs.
Went and picked up the newest member of the family.

Productive morning so far...
Bacon, cheddar cheese and cheese curds are in the smoker. Coffee is made. Bacon is frying.
Have to wait here today. FedEx is supposed to be delivering my Redhawk back to me, and it requires a signature.
Just listening to the rain.
Nice work Miguel!
Getting ready to take Max to school in this pouring rain. Heh!Count your blessings...at least it's not snow!

Yep, the nurse just missed seeing the order, or thought the lab would do it.I keep getting worried about the now a days lax attitude of people who are expected to be highly trained professionals. Do they no longer use check lists?
Follow-up visit with the surgeon yesterday. Got some things done: removed the 38 staples, told me I no longer had to wear compression stockings ( both very welcome) and cut down my daily Tylenol prescribed use. Feeling a bit more comfortable today.

Thanks guys. My wife still won't let me go to the basement, which is where I REALLY want to be; that's where most of my toys are! But I understand, it would be very easy to over-do down there and hard to get back upstairs. Patience grasshopper!

Vacuum packed two kinds of pulled pork, bone-in strip steaks, and potato salad for the freezer. Started 12 pounds of green chile bacon. Seasoned and started green chile strip steaks in the sous vide bath for dinner. Vacuumed the pond, cleaned the pond pump and re-tinted the water. Not sure what else was on the list for today, but sometime here, we gotta start hard piping the pond filter into the pond.
Oh, and while vacuuming the pond, I spotted another bunch of tiny baby fish, so we gotta start making a serious effort to re-home some of these fish.
Haven't been doing any shooting lately, due to fire conditions. Can't shoot anywhere but an actual range, and I haven't had time to go to a real range. On the plus side, the lady next door was going through her late husband's stuff and apparently found some black powder. She's going to bring it over to me when she gets a chance.
Hi mazo, why didn't you put those firearms up for sale in the Buy Sell, or Trade section of this message board? This

Ingredients
Coarse kosher salt - 3%
Sugar - 2%
Ground Hatch chiles - 1%
Granulated garlic - 0.5%
Granulated onion - 0.5%
Ground cumin - 0.5%
Coarse black pepper - 0.5%
Cure #1 - 0.25%
How to use this recipe...
All those percentages above are a percentage of the weight of the pork belly that is being cured for bacon. I work in grams because it is more precise than ounces.
I take the pork belly and cut it into smaller pieces for easier handling. Then you weigh a piece of your pork belly and use that to figure amounts for ingredients.
For example: if your piece of belly weighs 1000 grams, 3% of 1000 grams is 30 grams, so you would use 30 grams of kosher salt for that piece of belly. See how that works?
Mix a separate batch of cure for each piece of belly. rub all the cure into the piece of belly, then place it into a vacuum bag with all the cure and vacuum pack it. You can use ziplocs as well, just make sure to put it into a pan in case of leakage. The cure will draw moisture out of the meat. When it is all packed, it goes in the refrigerator for 10-14 days.
After that I cold smoke it. During the winter, when temps stay below 40 degrees, I smoke it for 12-24 hours. During the summer, I cold smoke it for no longer than 3 hours. In any case, do not let the internal temp of the meat go over 130 degrees, or you will start rendering the fat out of it.
After smoking, it gets repacked and goes back in the refrigerator for seven days before slicing and repacking.
Yeah...what happened?Hi mazo, why didn't you put those firearms up for sale in the Buy Sell, or Trade section of this message board? This

Richard
Hi mazo, why didn't you put those firearms up for sale in the Buy Sell, or Trade section of this message board?Oh-oh, guess I might be drummed out of the corps! ^j) Well, hmmm, uhhh, errr, actually the guns were primarily modern ones, with 2 antique ones. I wanted to maximize my investment, also needed to justify the two hour trip to pick up my BPCR and hopefully make some money. I really didn't think there would be much interest here for what I took to auction off. And there would be the hassle of packaging up 14 guns and shipping 12 of them off from an FFL to a FFL Next time I will post here to see if anyone wants any of my "stuff".
Regards, Richard
Good day at work today. They finally fired our biggest problem employee. The guy is the boss' nephew (literally). For the last couple months, he's been srhowing up for the morning line out then vanishing for the whole day. Sometimes we didn't see him till the next day. Several people said he was going home during the day and coming back to clock out. This morning the boss's boss showed up and escorted the guy off site. His uncle (my boss) had to clean out his stuff and take it to him.I have seen how one goof off or privileged person can ruin the morale of a whole crew. That is why affirmative action is so destructive to the workplace.
I have a dilemma. I have a bit of bacon stuck in my teeth. On one hand, it's annoying. On the other, I can still taste bacon. Not sure what to do. Is this what they call a first world problem?
All this time, I have a completely useless partner, standing behind me and watching me work while doing zip-slant-nothing. This guy is 425 pounds. He can barely get through the doors of the Ford F-350s we drive at work. He constantly complains about actually having to do his job. And he smells bad. He's been there forty years, and is ROTC (retired on the clock). He keeps saying he's getting close to actually retiring. We're all praying for it to happen. In the meantime, this is the last week I have to work nights with him. Next week, he rotates out for one of our young guys who is semi-knowledgeable, but at least works.
Today I went and voted.
It's motorcycle riding season here in AZ....from now until April.....then is just warmer motorcycle riding season.Cudos Mike, you're doing something admirable here. "Do unto thy neighbour ....."
Planning a shooting excursion in neighboring Benson, AZ over the next couple of weeks. My good friend Gary has over 300 BP and conversion revolvers including over a half dozen Patterson's. He's getting up in age and needs a little help getting around. Rough duty, but somebody needs to help himm go shooting.... :-*
Sorry to hear of the disability but glad she was approved. That sometimes takes a long time and repeated hearings.

Finishing up 3 knife sheaths with 3 more to go. 4 tobacco "estate" pipes halfway through restoration.....hope to have most of those finished today. They are but they have a service center in Nevada where they do warranty work and gunsmithing. They have a lifetime warranty for the life of the gun btw, no matter who originally bought it. I've had mine for about eight years and have had no issues or failures of any kind.

LOL.... I was exactly the same, but now the wife has a Toyota Highlander. Fortunately for me, early summer will have me back in my El Camino after a 15 year hiatus.
The Altima is a good car, you'll grow to like it.

What shall I make to go with beef tenderloin for dinner tonight?
I was doing a minor job at work, while singing "poisoning pigeons in the park". Someone I work with passed by, stopped, and told me "You are like a really twisted Disney movie." It was one of the nicest things anyone ever said to me.
Drove to Phoenix with a load of El Camino parts. Engine is almost in, just a little tweaking on the mounts. Vintage Air going in.....new steering column......New gauge setup.....I'm just glad I've got people smarter than me to get this thing all wired up!

Are you putting an LS in it?
Kids are home for a month, due to the COVID-19 panic. So the first day of "homeschool" started today. It's going to be a long month.
The El Camino is looking great! What color have you picked out for it?
I love it!! That's very similar to how I painted the 68 Nomad.

Wagons are awesome. One even won this years Ridler, which surprised me. Do you still have it?
Corsair ???
Corsair ???
Good eye, Len. I'll bet you're right.
MazoNope the Governor wouldn't have anything to do with that. That falls under the BATFE purview. Hope you get it straightened out. Probably some new shipping clerk that doesn't understand the law.
I sent Cust Serv an email. Havn't heard back yet.
Its really wierd, cause I just bought 2 Pietta Colts in Jan of 2020, and they shipped them to my home. Can't figure out, what gives.
I havnt heard of any gun law changes, since January in Wisconsin, unless the new Governor did something. Dave
Oooooh, not good! Retired electrician myself. Loose connection at outlet or heavy load/improper fuse/breaker? Maybe from using an electric heater coupled with any of those other things. Fires have been known to happen from things like that and then the cause is listed as electrical malfunction.
Miner
A few yrs ago, I went thru my house, and pulled all the receptacles, and switches, to check all the terminals for loose screws.
Lots of them were loose. They get loose from every day use.
You might want to do that on yours.
Loose wires can cause fires.
Just a thought. I am not an electrician.
Dave
You'll love this...
We're mapping out the circuits on our house, in conjunction with replacing all the receptacles and switches. In our main panel, we have one 20 amp circuit that is supposed to be just the refrigerator and nothing else. While tracing circuits this morning we found that the "dedicated" refrigerator circuit has:
1 - the refrigerator outlet
2 - 2 duplex appliance outlets in the kitchen
3 - 3 duplex outlets and a ceiling fan on the sun porch
4 - one duplex outlet in the walk-in closet in the master bedroom
5 - the entire master bath, including one duplex outlet, one quad outlet, and two light fixtures
None of this is GFCI protected and as it stands, we can't put GFCI on it, since the refrigerator is on it, and you can't GFCI a refrigerator circuit.
Nice work and it seems to be progressing well. I dont know how to build a car and wouldn't know where to begin. It looks complicated.
The only "building" I ever did was with the help of a couple of friends who had built a '32 roadster for drag racing. They helped put a rebuilt 283 Chevvy in my '35 Ford 5 window coupe. I went out to the farm one night and one of them had already reversed the 15" Lincoln wheels for the rear. Fun times!
Yeah, we did things, using our own hands and brains and what ever material that was around. I still live that way, but pitty the new generation that seems all at a loss. The only "building" I ever did was with the help of a couple of friends who had built a '32 roadster for drag racing. Fun times indeed! We grew up in a great time.

Cheap gas, too. We were the most mobile generation in the history of the world. We got around. High times.
I grew up in the LA area and it was snow ski on Saturday and surf on Sunday. A thirty minute drive would put you where you could legally shoot yer guns any time you wanted. I wouldn't go anywhere near that third-world shit hole now but it sure was fun while it lasted.

I had a pretty cool Lionell set up as a little kid but my electric train days are long behind me.

Yup G Dog....I remember buying $1 worth of gas and driving around half the night. Cruisin' Main Street.
You guys are bringing back fond memories. Working on the car, getting it ready to cruise/race on Friday and Saturday night. $5 to fill it up and .75 cents for a pack of smokes. Kids nowadays don't even have a clue how good we had it.

....and a couple cases of the cheapest beer available in the back seat! We grew up in an amazing era that will never be repeated unfortunately. The Camino brings me back to those days.....I couldn't be happier with the way it's coming out. Trying to retain as much of the old school look as I can. I may have to look for an old under dash 8 track and some Iron Butterfly....:)

I've bought gas for 35 cents. I quit smoking for 15 years when they said they were going to go from 50 cents a pack to 75 cents. I was married by then. This was me and my first wife in 1977

Yessir!! We drank many a six-pack of Strohs!!
My first car, a 1970 VW Bug, had an 8-Track in it. It was a Craig with two 6x9's in the back well behind the seat. Good times!

great pic! I've got a few somewhere with abut that same length of hair. Good times....from what I remember...
Not to date myself.....but I remember during one of the "gas wars" buying gas for 17 cents a gallon. That was full service, which was all there was.

Nice! A good friend had a 71. We put about a million miles on that thing.
Man, that El Camino is looking good! I like what you've done.
Thanks Dave! Wish I could afford body and paint right now. That's my favorite part. Love the smell of bondo in the morning. But this way I can concentrate on the interior and stereo stuff....not quite so expensive. Gonna try my hand at building the console myself. That'll be a new experience. I just need the car in my driveway instead of at the shop. Hoping for the trip home next week so I can get it inspected and licensed...... then ugly or not...I'm cruisin'!

Maybe I need to drive to you! My problem is no space to do the job. Gonna have to pay to get it squirted. Not going to mind leaving her rough for a bit though. It'll be nice not stressing over everything for a while....

I've always been a stickler for straightness too. The prep work is where the paint job is built. I always said, I could probably train monkeys to spray the paint, but it's a hell of a lot harder to train someone to prep properly.
I hear ya on the computerized stuff. I'm not a fan, and never will be.
When I was working at a little hot rod shop out in Fallbrook, we put the motor and trans from a 90's-something Corvette, into a 59 Chevy pickup. It was a nightmare. We ended up having to buy some kind of electronic gizmo that interfaced with some other gizmo to make it all work right. It wasn't fun.
Give me a SBC and a Turbo 350 any day. Or even better, an M-21 or 22.
This was my 59 Chevy. I put a 327 and a Muncie in it. Wish I still had it.
Well. so far today I hand loaded and belted up 30,000 rounds, *l_ and that was all before noon. L@J For the rest of the day, I'll do something else. (*3
I didn't even realize it was a hammer gun Hawg. I did see the grip safety and lack of hinged trigger. Is it DA only? Or can you manually cock the hammer?
I'm glad the mags are easier to load. That is a royal pain with mine. The first one or two rounds are no big deal. But with each successive round, it gets proportionately harder to put a round in. By the 7th round, it takes a herculean effort to put it in the mag.

What did you do, go out and buy a Dillon?
The hammer is internal. It is SAO. I might have balked a little bit if it was DA. The mag follower has ears like some .22's do so you can hold the follower down and just drop the cartridges in.

No, just using a Rock Chucker.
You loaded 30,000 rounds on a Rock Chucker, all before noon?!?! You are Superman!!

Today we are celebrating our 28th wedding anniversary. I can't believe how quickly and smoothly the time has passed. For excitement we may just go out and mow the 3 acres of lawn!

Today was a shooting-the-Manhattan-Navy day. Yesterday was a shooting-the-Colt-Navy day. Have got hold of some 1075 RWS caps that are a bit tighter in size and seem to be made of a thicker metal sheet (think they're German made). Had no cap sucking issues, which was a nice surprise.
OK Dave. I'll see what I can do to accomodate your wishes. Have to lure my wife to do some photographing.
I had a cousin who was an engineer at the NASA Space Center in Huntsville, Al. that was big into ham radio. He has been gone for several years now; no, I don't know what his call sign was.
My dad and brother in law were big into it in the 70's. There's still an 80 foot tower in the yard with a half a set of stack 3's still on it. I never got past a CB when I was trucking but I did have single side band with a 400 watt amp.
I did a search of the Huntsville operators and did find my cousin's call sign....W4QAU. His license was cancelled in 2006 due to his death. I don't know if any here go back that far to see if you have him recorded. I was surprised at the large number of female operators, guess I shouldn't have been, but something I never considered before.

Hawg, that's the biggest part, the tower. I don't even have one up yet. I run an 80 meter dipole, but with my tuners, I can tune to just about all the hf ham bands. Get you a ham license, which isn't hard at all, you don't need to know any morse code, a good radio and put a good set of Yagi beams on top of your tower.
With the wire antenna I run, I can and do work the world. (7&

I don't have the interest or the money Pustic. I used to listen to them running ships through the Panama canal when I was a teenager. If you want this one come take it down. It's part of an old radio station tower but it was cut off at 90 feet. There's close to ten feet of it set in concrete. It comes apart in 20 foot sections.
I have another cousin who has a son into ham radio. He uses an old windmill tower he had moved to their place.
My dad and brother were into it big time. My dad's call sign (still remember after 50+ years!) was W9KVW, brother's was WB9THJ. After Dad passed in '89, my brother was able to get his old call sign. How cool is that?
I got out of bed today. Does that count for anything?
Years ago I wanted to be a ham operater, but you needed to know Morse Code at that time. And where do I go to take the test? I lived in a small rural town, so never pursued it. Yeah, I could afford to do it now, but at my age it wouldn't be a good return in my opinion. Although I do have a windmill tower.....hmmmm. Are hills detrimental to transmissions?
I have always had a love for two way radio communication.
My first CB was a Heathkit GW-10, it had three x-mitt crystals and one receive crystal with a variable tuner on the receiver.
I started transmitting with a piece of TV wire on the side of the house for an antenna.
I do currently have a Heathkit HW-101, have had it running for receiving but have never tried transmitting.
I guess they no longer need the Morse Code training, but have never pursued it any further. Maybe one day.
The old tube stuff is really what I liked.

Hello Pustic,
What is the purpose of the CF & SD card slot & USB port?
I'm afraid I'd never figure out how to run one of those,
having enough trouble with my phone.

Any pictures Len? I'd love to see both of those pistols in action.
Great pictures Len!! You even caught the fire coming out. That's hard to catch in a picture.I rigged the camera on a tripod and set it on "video". After shooting I ran the video in a program called SMPlayer using the option "screenshots"and took out three consecutive frames. I don't think it's possible to have someone trying to take snaps and get the flame. From sears release to recoil is just a matter of micro seconds. Next time (with the Manhattan) I'll try another background, as white doesn't really show the amount of smoke created.
I love it that you shoot originals. You're a lucky man.
Looks like a great place to hang out, Mick!
The sad news is that shipments from Italy are about non-existent. They aren't sure when they will getting more guns to fit and finish. So look forward to shortages on most Italian imports in the future.
Hi Miguel,
nice journey. If you have more pics from that TX western shop, please post them. In these sinister times we do need uplifting stories and pictures. The more the better.
OK Miguel, I liked your pics, but you've got to make amends and keep that cell phone click away when you're at those places that is of paramount interest to us guys on the forum. I even think there are apps that can handle shaky hands. And I've already added Fredericksburg to my list. That'll be the day! But when can we bloody Europeans travel freely again ?Hi Miguel,

Sorry Len, that's all the pictures I took. It seems that all the goodies had me a bit preoccupied. I'm not much of a picture taker anyway.....I need to get better at that. If you;re ever in the mood for a road trip, Fredericksburg is a great place to head towards. Great food, fun stuff to do and lots to see.

Cool pic but I don't see any spines on the cactus. Do they burn them off or something? The one I had wasn't that big and it had some long spines on it but the little almost invisible ones were just as bad. it seemed like if you got too close they launched themselves at you. :'(
When you want another one just cut off a pad and stick it in the ground and it'll grow.

Thanks. Thats a good idea. I can't think of anyone to add. I don't want to get on it till I have to LOL.

LenDD4 did at least two rounds in Nam. Was exposed to Agent Orange. Fought several years against recurring brain tumors. He was a gentle and caring man. Working for Vets and running a Toys for Toddlers thingie in WY. The kind of guy that left an imprint.

Bought a Remmie parts gun (see pic attached) at an auction a few weeks back , sold off the excess nipples (kept one spare set), powder measure so all told I am into for about $100.USD . Once I had a chance to look it over this morning swapped out a couple of parts and little cleaning and I'm hoping I have a shooter - taking it to the range tomorrow.
I ate a couple Dominos Pizza brownies for breakfast, did a little forum serfing. This afternoon I went to the Hospital imaging center to have an MRI on my head in an attempt to find out why my left ear has constant feeling of aural fullnes [look it up ] and frequent buzzing [not ringing],I had experienced a gradual loss of hearing in my right ear over a period of time. After an MRI, I got a call from my Dr. saying I had a tumor growing against the brain stem (auditory neuroma). My choices were radiation (tumor would stay) or surgery to remove it. I opted for surgery. Long story short, tumor was benign, but lost what little hearing I had in the ear. Fingers, I hope you have a simple solution to your problem.
Yesterday was a banner day. I bought new underwear.I bet the Missus was relieved!

I took my wife to the Dr. today as she has been having PVCs daily for the last 10-12 days. He said it was the benign type PVCs and gave her a prescription.
I just received notice of jury duty, why couldn't they have called while I was still working?Could you claim yourself "biased", "disqualified" or such ??? I mean, these days we're all accused of being biased some way or the other.

Lucky man! My hair hasn't been this long since I was in high school. My barber called it quits after the lockdown.
Thanks Capt!
It's a 2012 with only 60k miles. It has all the options, including locking diffs and swaybar disconnect. On top of it all, it has a really nice sound/Nav system in it. We paid 28K out the door.
Since it is gonna be off and on rain and lower than normal temps for the next few days, my wife decided to make some chili. Big batch in a 10 quart Dutch oven, MMM-mmm!
We've been to Hatch a few times; my parents lived in Las Cruces.
We used to bring home braids of chilis.
We have broken records for the coldest high temperature 2 succeeding days, 52* yesterday and 50* today. Those records were last set in 1917! Rain most of the day today, wish we could send some out west! Wind chill?! In early September?
Leaking valve? If so, there is a new non-invasive procedure to replace a valve. My sister and a cousin each had a valve replaced by going in an artery in the arm! One over-night and home the next day.
We ended up with 7" total.

I wouldn't mind seeing some snow here, especially since it would be gone in a couple of days.
Mike, thanks for your generous offer, but we will just try to get along with what we have. You are considerably higher than we are, but according to the topo map we are at 1000 feet.I got 4" Friday afternoon, 4" last night on top of 8" inches last Monday. I'll see about sending some your direction .We ended up with 7" total.I wouldn't mind seeing some snow here, especially since it would be gone in a couple of days.
Snow sux....... believe me. So does the vehicle eating salt that comes with it.
My drive way is like a ski jump. Trying to shovel it is taking your life in your hands at my age (77). More than once i have fallen down trying to maintain my ballance on it. The bottom half is a real steep angle, its treacherous. Snow blowers wont go back up when at the bottom.
If We werent so old W'ed move. To old now.

Soaking my foot at the moment. Then I have to clean the kitchen, rearrange the refrigerator, maybe rearrange the pantry, slice green chili bacon, start a batch of Canadian bacon curing, get a whole New York strip roast out of the freezer to thaw, and thaw a swordfish steak to grill with the little lobster tails for dinner. Then my wife wants to rearrange the bedroom so we can use our extra TV in here. She was using the extra tv as a computer monitor, but I bought her a 32" HD/4k monitor yesterday. The office will be moving from the bedroom back into the walk-in closet, where it originally was.My guess is...you are soaking your foot due to the laundry list in the latter half of your post. If I was a doctor I'd prescribe a day of R&R.
You just can't be too careful these days. We are having snow right now with the heavy stuff coming later tonight and tomorrow. Might get up to 9" with high wind. NOT nice!

I spent the better part of the morning on the phone. Not constantly, but on and off, talking to medical people or waiting for a call-back. Finally ended up making a mad dash to Madison to be worked into a CT Scan. Kinda stressful, but now resting in my recliner.
Those water tanks make great raised beds for gardening. We re-purposed one that had the bottom sprung out due to freezing water in it. I was going to put some "filler" in it, like gravel, etc., but the guy was already here with dirt so just filled it. It was here when I bought the place; previous owners had a horse.
Changed to Continental Terrain Contact A/T tires, which are better for the kind of driving we do. Also added N-Fab nerf bars with steps to make it easier for the aged and crazy mother-in-law to get into the truck.

The VA in MKE called me today, and said I can come to MKE VA Hospital tomorow, and get the first dose of the Covid shot. So I'm going to see them .

Yes, I live by Browns lake in Burlington.

Working on a list of C & Bs to sell.
We are just waiting to see what tomorrow brings...supposed to get upwards of 6-8" of snow and 35-45 mph winds, cold temperatures. Welcome to winter in Wisconsin! We had a fairly mild winter last year and so far this year. Looks like that is gonna change!Right. Hanging on the edge of my seat down here too, Em.
It's been pushing 80 here all week. I've been wearing shorts again. L@.

Is it OK if I hate on you...just a little? ;)
I'm with you Mick! I spend my mornings out on the patio, enjoying a cup of Joe and a smoke, in the warm sunshine! (I'm gonna duck out now before I get strung up!)

Emery...did you bring the rope? 'Cuz I've got a new, unused one in my saddle bag if you didn't.
Rope? I have paracord, parachute shock rope and up to 1" line, and lots in between.
I have absolutely no experience, but anything should work.
We have an extended period of below zero temps, mostly at night. We got all the way up to 6* today. Next week it is supposed to moderate a bit.

Yes I do, but not in a while. I am a life member there. In the late seventies they needed money, and me, and my freind bought life memberships far $150.00. Not many life members left.
I belong to "for abodiesonly" also. My name there is barracudadave67, been a member there since 2004. when the weather gets warmer I'll probably start working on my 360 again to put in my "LAST" project, which is a 66 B-Cuda. I also have a 67 B-Cuda CoupeFormulas S, all original, and my 69 "Slickback" 340 B-Cuda. But I'm not getting any younger, and guns are easier to tinker with.

Good luck finding anything for reloading at the present time, unless you want to pay the rip-off prices on gunbroker, and ebay.Lol, no problems on primers. I found some the other day at an LGS for $125 per thousand. lol There are reports some guys are charging $300 and $400 for 1000. Glad I don't need any right now. I liked it better when I bought mine for $29 per 1000.
Even Amazon has sky high prices on rloading equiptment.
Powder Burn, do a search for the .243 brass you can probably find some, even range brass. Now if you nedd primers, and powder, I can't give you any ideas.
Dave
I suppose I could send a few slices out in an envelope. The thing would get a little greasy...
I spent the morning removing 14 inches of snow from my driveway and such. Like Len said "free gym".Oh, hell...don't send it my way. Ours is just starting to melt!

I'm baaaack! I know, you didn't even know I was gone L@J Came home yesterday afternoon after 4 days in the hospital.
What's wrong with your hand EM? I hope everything is ok.
Yep, we like storms too, but not nasty wind. We are pretty snug in our old stone house, don't even worry much about power outages anymore.
What I meant when I said we don't worry about power outages is that we have an automatic stand-by generator. We still get outages even after a few powerline upgrades. Our local grid was put into underground cables two yrs ago, but we still get some outages. Have a 6.5 kW diesel generator, but not auto like yours. Have to roll it out of doors (and start up by battery/starter motor).
Yesterday we attended our grand daughter's belated wedding reception. They had moved to Texas a couple of years ago; had planned on coming back to Wi.to be married. Due to Covid, they were married in Texas, but still had lots of money invested in a reception facility here. It was a great party, had a good time seeing old friends.Excellent. Sounds like a great time.

Good Deal Mazo good times are fun.I think my small generator was about 3.5 KW and would power the furnace, fridge, freezer, a few lights and the well, though not all at the same time (the well took a lot of 220 power). We have a gas range, so no problem cooking.
I have a Harbor Freight gen, we use for the appliances, if power is out long enough. Don't laugh, it will run both refridgeratos, and a freezer, no problem. Hope everyone is well. Rebel Dave
Len, your generator should power all the necessary energy to keep you functional. We had a small portable generator for many years but when this one came up on sale, I grabbed it.It does, EM.
Q: What did you do today
A: I postponed giving a stupid biker the Darwin Award. Was quietly crusing to town, while a row of cars were going the other way, when just in front of me a trike tries to overtake the car I'm meeting. Had to step hard on the brake and skid out on the shoulder. A close shave.
Oddly enough, "lane splitting" is not only legal here in Kommiefornia, it's encouraged! This place is ass-backwards.
Today, even though it was day 14 of 15 that it rained at least part of the day, I did get out to shoot.
I shot the 1860 Army today. Very enjoyable!
We were returning home from a visit and were on a 2 lane State highway. Traffic was heavy in both directions when this group of 16-18 bikers came blasting past us between the lines of cars, down the center of the road. It appeared they were experienced in doing that sort of thing. (jh
Yes, Dave it is.
The thing is there are fewer and fewer of these book stores that exist.
I went in for a follow up with my heart Dr. While I was there I got really dizzy. I always get a little dizzy for a minute or two when I first stand up but this time I was sitting down and it didn't go away. My blood pressure was a little low so they wanted to check it with me sitting, standing and lying down. When I stood up my wife said I just zoned out and didn't answer questions. Then I just plopped back down in my chair. My Dr. was concerned I might have had a light stroke and sent me to the ER. My wife wanted to drive me to the door but I said I'm fine, I can walk. I got out of the car and I got dizzy again and my wife said I just fell back into the car and slid down to the floor sill. She had to get help to get me inside where they put me in a wheelchair. While I was waiting my vision blurred and I was seeing double. My blood pressure had dropped to 90/40. After five hours an MRI and two bags of drip and some other tests they concluded I didn't have a stroke and it was just my bp. So it looks like y'all are going to have me to antagonize y'all some more. (7&Do you normally take Blood Pressure meds? Is it a matter of just getting them adjusted correctly?

OK.....your Doc may need to reduce your dosage to find the new correct amount for you now.

@ Hawg; we wouldn't accept one single day, without the opportunity to be harassed by you.

In spite of the heat and humidity, we got the lawn mowed. With both of us mowing (2 machines), it takes almost 2-1/2 hours.

Yard work, Shed work, Antique Car work.

Hi, it has been 27 years since I did the contracting for our retirement house. I did all the electricals, pluming, and other interior work. My wife has been on me to finish the house with the baseboard moldings. A wise man told me that once you finish your retirement house you will die. I have avoided finishing the house for 27 years. I even tried a ploy of asking my wife if she was aware of the world wide chip shortage. That didn't work. Well, I am almost finished with all the oak baseboard molding.
It was nice knowing you guys.
Regards,
Richard

Sometimes the anticipation is just as much fun as actually handling the gun when it arrives.
Made a couple posts hoping to keep some interest here while working on the damage control.

Good afternoon. I'm still not seeing any email updates if you've sent any since the 26 AUG. Actually have received none. Not complaining, just letting you know. Thanks,
Tim
Chiming in on mike116's efforts: I'm getting the email updates and I can get in to the forums with my Linux computer with DuckduckGo search engine.
Yesterday I shot 1858 Remington. Today I shot Manhattan Navy. Enjoyed both fully. Today also got my loading bench and cupboard better organized by installing a set of small drawers in the cupboard. Also cast some .454
Took 122 pounds of food to the local food bank. Started a batch of dark rye bread. When the ambition rears it's ugly head, I have to go out and start stacking a cord and a half of firewood - mainly pistachio wood and some mesquite - in the shed. Tomorrow, the wife and I are going to a one-man show put on by the actor who plays Wyatt Earp down in Tombstone. He's a descendent of Wyatt Earp.
Today I shot my REB 44.
Now I know many of you don't like it because it's not historically correct.
But that does not affect how it shoots and how I enjoy shooting it.
It shot flawlessly and accurately.
It's a good day

And today, in my backyard range, I shot my 1860 Army.
No issues. No stoppages.
Not as accurate as usual. But that was me.....today I was off.
But still a fun time.
Today I shot my Uberti 1851 Navy. Fun session.
And although I shoot mouse fart loads as Hawg would say, I am finding I like shooting .44 caliber better than .36 caliber.

It's BOOM vs. pop. I totally get it.
Same reason you like shooting a .45 over a .22
Do you shoot mouse fart loads out of it too? L@J
Welp, there's that M1860 grip, for one thing. I know of little that's more ergonomic than that.
Drove my load of french fries from Wamsutter WY to Palmyra NE.Oh yeah. John is sorely missed in this household.
Bought some raffle tickets for the cutest little colt ever.
Now about to enjoy a Ginger Ale and Vodka, in memory of John Prine, RIP Big guy.
Mississippi to Indiana is a 'fer piece', no wonder you're worn out. Rest up Hawg, you're energy is needed here. Best wishes.
Spent the last two nights in Nashville. Head off to Florida tomorrow.
Must have found the right spots to hang out.
Hardly have a voice from singing along at 4,000,001 decibels with every number last nights band did for their full 6 (?) hour set.
Good times had by all.
Grabbed the camera tonight, it’s an anitique. Be interesting to see if any of these turn out.
Looks like maybe the Nevada side of Tahoe?? Been there once, a long time ago and it seemed the Nevada side was much more picturesque than the Cali side?I would agree with you Zulch. The Nevada side is less developed as it has the State Park on the north. Then you have South Lake Tahoe which looks like a mini Las Vegas.
Thanks for mentioning that book. I would love to read it. I will hunt that one up. I'll bet Twain tells that story well. Brings to mind another author, Thoreau. I read Walden and thoroughly enjoyed it. The wife and I went to the cabin site back in the mid 90's. Remnants still there. Funny thing, all the pale skinned young folk trying to catch rays on a small hillside overlooking the pond. HAHAHAHAHA..It was a site as compared to a true beach if you will. I have been reading Mark Twain's 'Roughing It' afyer many decades.. He devotes some time to his exploration of Lake Tahoe with a friend in the 1860s. It was a remote curiosity at the time. They camped around it for weeks, and explored it with a row boat when it was a completely undeveloped wilderness. Mark Twain also describes how he inadvertantly started a forest fire that forced them onto the lake in their boat while it raged and finally burned over the mountain and out of sight. He wouldn't recognize the place today, lol.
Does she know about the winter in Indiana?

We probably will. I don't want to but a lot of stuff she says makes sense. We would have it easier up there but I'm a southern boy. I'd never leave the house in winter.
A "good thing"? Hawg ain't movin to no damn Indiana.
Por todos los Santos -- Has anyone here been in contact with ol' Smokey or has he just gone MIA for good?Smokey has seemingly gone Bermuda Triangle on us. Both his and wife's cell and home phones disconnected, emails, pm's and such go unanswered. No contact since April 2nd. Google search turns up nothing including obits reports. I'm at a loss.
This morning I shot my 8mm Mauser Sporter.
With my handloads it is a pleasure to shoot and is dead nuts on.
And now I have a few more cases to load.
But Pustic, what does that even mean?

Spent the last two nights in Nashville. Head off to Florida tomorrow.I typed out a response to this I swear.
Sounds like you had a nice time. By the way, antique film camera. What are you using? Large format, 35mm or? I still shoot 35mm on rare occasion. Fun times.
Antique in the digital world, it degrades pretty hard at 6400 ISO, and I was shooting there, to catch anything and semi freeze motion.
Caught Lynn Owsley playing steel, the last surviving Troubador, (40-50 years of playing with greats, like top acts there in Nashville). Also, In the Steel Guitar Hall of Fame.
Charles Esten got up and sang with the band the night before (Had no clue who he was, but a country artist, star of Nashville the show, and one of the leads in The Outer Banks, my teen thought I was rock star status when he found this out, apparently loves the second show, who knew?)
Sooo Sooo delicious.
(Owsley is on the left as you view the pic. Roberts is not only THE place to be, if you're a classic honky-tonk type, but the only place you're guaranteed to NOT hear 5 KISS covers a night),
No worries Clyde...i've done that before....oops...I forgot to send it HAHAHAHA.. Anyway, Those photos are great and I too would love to have been there. Is that downtown Nashville? I need to go there. Think I would thoroughly enjoy that place. (7&Spent the last two nights in Nashville. Head off to Florida tomorrow.I typed out a response to this I swear.

Oh, Nudies Cadillac. Yes, the Nudie of "Nudie Suit" infamy. Drank a beer or two at his (deceased) honky-tonk.
Nudie Cohn was such a pivotal and enigmatic character in shaping the ... ... landscape of the stage presence of Honky Tonk/Cowboy Artists fromt he 50's forward.
They had Little Jimmy Dickens suit hanging on display. Two Nudies t-shirts avaliable, censored and non. Out of "non" in my size, I was saddened by that, and bought a censored.
yes Zulch, right on Broadway.
I got out of bed so far...
Made it from Salinas, UT to Cuba NM.
NM was the worst on the #fauxvid1984 fear, and then they fully opened, cutest little smiles on the cashiers here where I bed down, and now we're back to full circle fear. Sad.
Stopped here, as I can still make Fort Worth in a day, and I am also close enough to the house I can turn around and go back expediently if there was any news, good or bad, prepared for bad, on the whereabouts of my 76 hours now missing 14 year old. If ya pray... Stole my car Sunday, and left me on the side of the road, and has been gone since 17:45 Sunday, when I watched my taillights disappear. Such an angel too, drugs I think. Mixed up with the Cartel, on and on. Twin Falls ID, Conservative, Christian Farming community, who knew?

You need to find a cb shop and have the radio peaked and tuned. SWR needs to be 1 or less but you probably already know that.

You could have the key turned down and just the swing peaked and run a kicker. A barefoot radio isn't going to have much distance. I ran a 400 watt TNT when I was driving. The LTD is a good radio but it needs a better mic. Astatic and Road Kings are very good noise-canceling mics. The cord on the RK tends to break wires. I ran an RK 56 with an Astatic cord. Don't try to run an amp without turning the key down.
Swung by the CB shop right at FGL, Exit 2, Shakey's I believe. He's been at it for 32 years.
He measured my SWR, said I was 1.3, and couldn't get it any better if I tried.
PAid the $25 to have it peaked and tuned.
Specifically did NOT buy the "with blue tooth" model, just so I could upgrade the mic.
After I grab a General Lee, (or a Conex 3300) this will move to the Jeep. then antennas, then a booster.

Where' the vanity plate Dave?
Dave, have you settled on a catchy word for the plate ?
Some of my based range-mate LE and DA types here have taken to calling Challengers "Kekistani Rollers" in reference to the Charlottsville, VA festivities of August '17.
Always been a VW, BMW, Porsche boy/man myself but everyone knows Dodges are the best evasion & chase rides in the world. Used one in the '70s. Fast AF.
Congratulations, Shotgun. She real pretty.
I've always bounced back and forth between Ford and Chevy. I've had a few Mopars but always managed to blow them up.
Every Dodge dealer in the state has now checked in saying they want to buy my 2019 Ram.

Right now is definitely a seller's market. I could easily make 8-10K selling my Challenger that I've only had for about a month. New cars are in very short supply, and dealers are begging for good used cars to sell.
If you have an extra car to drive, you could make some money selling your car or truck right now. Then just wait for the bubble to burst and prices to come back down before replacing the sold car.

Yep, we all have our favorites Hawg. Ford vs Chevy vs Dodge. Colt vs Remington. Maytag vs Whirlpool. We all have a preference and a reason why we like and dislike. It's all very much subjective.

Managed to make it to two different gun shows today. Picked up some brass casings but that was about it. Can't believe the asking prices on powder, primers and. 22 ammo good thing I've stocked up over the years. Funny thing was prices on firearms weren't that bad.

Gun prices are down because there's not much ammo. LGS has a sale on where they give you a box of ammo with every gun you buy. They have Heritage Rough Riders and Rossi RS22's on sale for 129.00 + a box of ammo. Probably the best deal is a Retay Masai Mari 12 gauge semi for 999.99 and get a free Retay GPS pump.

Hi, it has been two weeks since I severely fractured my wrist in a fall. At eighty years old, I learned that I can't fly. It's a bummer since I can neither fly my drones or shoot firearms for another eight weeks. I repeatedly told Hawg that I could fly, but I lied. lol
I'm wishing everyone else be safe and enjoy their BP firearms. Happy Thanksgiving all!

Here's a good read on what fur traders wore. It is very surprising, so if you've got a diehard opinion of what they wore don't read it. http://www.manuellisaparty.com/articles/hats.htmInteresting read.
Derby's were fairly popular in the old west. Maybe more by townspeople but popular nonetheless. Derby's were called bowlers in England and bowlers were called derby's in the U.S.

Very true Hawg. Mine was custom made in England. That's why I call mine a bowler. I had it made just for my head and I probably paid way too much for it. I tried cowboy hats but they don't suit me. I'm not a cowboy.

Well that's cool. If you're happy with it you didn't pay too much. I never got into the habit of wearing a hat. When I started doing CAS I immersed myself into it and bought a 6X Silver Belly Resistol thinking I would wear it all the time and I did for awhile. When I got fed up with CAS I hung it on a gunrack and never picked it back up.
There you are. Go Hawg.

That's a good lookin hat Hawg. It suits you. I just feel silly in a cowboy hat. I don't like the way they look on me.
When I first started CAS I wore one. I have a very nice Resistol 4X hat. It just never felt right on my head. I also have a Stetson straw hat that I only wore while dove hunting to keep the sun off my neck. I'm just not a cowboy.
I never wore a hat much before moving to AZ about 20 years ago. Now I have quite a few hats, mostly cheapies, but a few fairly good ones. I've found it necessity for the Arizona sun and have an assortment of brim widths ..... so I can wear what's appropriate for the job. That’s cool Mick👍 Love to see a pic of you sporting your favorite hat👍 I don’t wear one but really would like too just ain’t comfortable yet? 🤣🤣
I went by the LGS today an looked at an original 1873 Trapdoor. They wanted 700.00 for it and I was about to try to put it on layaway when I noticed the forward part of the stock had mouse chews on it. Then I perused the display cases and saw one of these. NAA hogleg in .22 magnum. They called it an 1860 lol. You have to remove the cylinder to load it which was a deal breaker.Wait...you let mouse chews keep you from scoring an original Trapdoor?
Yeah, I may see what I can get rid of. If I can find enough I may try to trade them out of it tomorrow.Whew! For a minute there I thought you done lost your ever-lovin' mind! :no_no:

Welp that didn't work out. I used to be able to deal with them before the owner died. They still have good prices but forget selling them anything. Oh well, I needed a trapdoor like I need a hole in my head.Well darn🤬 sorry it didn’t work out Hawg😞
Won't play ball, huh? Well Hawg, as Al Capone once said - "You can get a long way with a kind word, but you can get a lot further with a kind word and a gun."
Maybe ya should just rob da joint.
Went into my LGS, since they got in a large shipment of Federal 9mm ammo. While I was their, the owner says "You shoot black powder, right." Someone brought in a load of gun stuff to sell, which included 3 1-pound plastic cans of Goex ffg. He let me have it for $10 a can.

I haven't 'done a 'bloody thing all day' except drink coffee and eat Christmas candy. It's nice like that. I like good chop but am not a foodie.
Last week - got up at dawn, drove over to the stables where I park/board a mare, rode up into the trees and shot a Pietta '60. It was cold that morning and you could see the horse's breath and the smoke mixed with a little fog and very slowly scudded away. The trees were dripping from dew and the night's rain. I like that, a lot.

Hey, Hawg. That mass airflow sensor might need to be replaced. For what it's worth, you may want to think about spending that $80. If one fails it may not show anything on scans. I just had one go out in our 2003 National RV motorhome with a Chevy Workhorse engine. It ran lean and burned a hole in one of the pistons. The engine overhaul cost $18K. Plus another $3K just to have it towed to the shop. I'll put a new one in every 5 years from now on whether it needs one or not.
Well, hopefully it won't cause an issue. Maybe there's a way you can check it to see if it's functioning properly. I don't know if that's possible. In fact, I didn't know what the thing was until it gave me a problem.Hey, Hawg. That mass airflow sensor might need to be replaced. For what it's worth, you may want to think about spending that $80. I can't do it right now. If it will just get me through next month. After that it can sit some more until I can get one. If it burns a piston it can sit in the yard until it rusts completely down. It should run with it unplugged but it won't.
What is your daughter's condition?
As to MIL, after that statemen, one could wonder if covid may be one of her lesser afflictions.
On another subject - should I be worried that my wife told someone I was her "participation trophy husband"?
Piñon coffee came up here. Been reading about that. Had not heard of it before. It sounds good but can one wire on piñon? That would be an important wonderment each and every morning.
My wife was going through some boxes of stuff and found a bunch of family papers. In with them was her grandfather's library card from the Camp San Luis Obispo library. Camp San Luis Obispo was an army training camp during WW2 and Korea. The best part is that it is signed on the back "Best of luck to a really great guy - Red Skelton."
Nobody under the age of 40 knows who Red Skelton is. Very sad.
The day before yesterday, I'm sitting in my work truck at one of our mobile substations, waiting to send power to a mining shovel. I get the word, hop out and send power. I turn around to find a half dozen big horn sheep standing on the other side of my truck. No real camera, and my phone is in the truck. As soon as I move towards the truck, they bug out.
I might have to start wearing one again. I'm starting to get a bald spot and the summer sun is hot on it. Funny thing is nobody in my family had a bald spot AFAIK. I can't afford a nice hat now tho and wont wear a baseball cap.You don’t have any old ones you could still wear Hawg?

I also feel your pain about the slip. I've done it too. I have a whole bucket full of holsters that I'd never show anyone because of slips or crooked stitches. Goes with the territory I suppose.

Working on the room that is going to be turned into a small photo studio today. The man who built this house was a maniac.
You know how old houses have a chair-rail 3'-4' off the floor to protect the plaster from the back of the chairs? This room has what appears to be a chair-rail ten-inches down from the ceiling.
Attended the funeral of Corporal Charles E. Hiltibran. He was KIA at the Chosin Reservoir; returned home after 72 years.
today's "what did I do" started a week ago.
Threw Smoky's Lyman into a sorghum soak.
Today I sanded out all the pitting, and casting marks, didn't defade-farbb, 220#, then 0 ought steel, and then a final of 0000 ought steel wool.
Content with the progress, I threw $60 work of stump remover into a metal pan. and turned on the heat. Didn't think to cut it with water, as the one video (I've watched it a couple times, dud is working on a crusty old 1911, Llama or something) said the heat would liquify it.
Started too, and then caked it.
Ended up with a mess, cut it with water to find my parts, and everything immediately blackened.
Cool. Except it looked like poodle tails, other than the internals.
Don't know what I did, hand, trigger, bolt, but half cock is faint, full cock comes at where half cock used too, and it won't fire capped nipples.
Back to the drawing board, maybe I'll swap the internals from my '14 Pietta target model into this '71 Lyman, and see if I get satisfactory results.
Pretty frustrated with myself, tried to clean up, restore, and slightly improve a functioning shooter, and I have a inop wall hanger now.

I've seen a lot of old houses like that. My moms old house has 14 foot ceilings. An eight foot piece of paneling was put up at the bottom. Another piece was cut for the top and a chair rail covered where they met.

You know how old houses have a chair-rail 3'-4' off the floor to protect the plaster from the back of the chairs? This room has what appears to be a chair-rail ten-inches down from the ceiling.

If'n it was one of us? A: you suck; B: Congrats, that was a beautiful piece.

Too bad you got beat on that one. Taylor's does have blued 5-1/2" ones in stock right now (https://taylorsfirearms.com/hand-guns/blackpowder-revolvers/1858-remington-collection/1858-remington-steel-u.html).

Either from Dixie or GunBroker, this (same $ either way) intrigues me. Then I could officially say I own a Colt and be spared the posthumous wrath of Master Roper for buying a cap-sucking Colt model... lol

With GB you pay tax. With Dixie, they do not collect tax. At least that's my experience.
Just checked the refrigerator for the fourteenth time to find that nothing has changed and the contents are exactly the same as the last thirteen times I looked in it.I just had to comment on this. E. M. You have a great sense of humor. This post made my day!!👍👍 thank you.

Nothing fits without work. Not even take off grips will fit unless you just get very lucky.
Hey, Sirius XM! Thanks for making it just as complicated as possible to cancel the subscription on our unneeded player. I thought for a few moments that you were going to ask me to sacrifice a black cockerel under a full moon to cancel it.
Did do this the other day. Will report back on how it fires.
Tried to order replacement grips, want BBQ gun grips, can't get a clear read on what fits and what doesn't. I guess a Uberti isn't a Uberti, if a Taylor and Co (this) or a Cimarron.

I'll in theory (unelss I have to stretch them #facepalm) then have a set for that brasser, I did try to modify down a pair of Ruger 3 screw SOA grips for my Lyman, if'n then are still floating around, They'll go here, I WANT pearl grips on this SS piece. And they were.

We finally got home after they finally got through running tests and observing her. She's still weak and dizzy. The first thing she did when she got in the car was get a cigarette. :-[
Managed to cook up some corned beef hash and eggs, doused in my homemade hot sauce. It's shaping up to be a good day.Sounds outstanding. Especially with your hot sauce. And I don't even knows what goes into it! :-H
I work at a copper mine in AZ. We start part-time interns at $18-$20 an hour. Last year I cleared 100K, not including safety and production bonuses. We're considered below industry average for pay in my job.
E.M. Is copper mining still active in Bisbee? I visited there many years ago.
Spent most of the day playing with my new photo printer. There is something about holding a high-quality photo that a digital pic can't match.Same with analog music. Way superior to digital.
I made a trip to WalMart to pickup supplies for my wife who stayed home cooking. I saw lots of men with their list wondering around the Mart.Rick, yes, you may have even seen me there!!?? Sorry about the crown coming off More dental work I suppose. Glad we have dentists but I don't like to visit them if I can help it. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving day. I certainly have much to be thankful for. It will be a good day.
I mixed up a batch of pan lube lubricant. I haven’t done this much but here’s the recipe one cup bees wax, quarter cup of white label Xlox , two tablespoons of petroleum jelly. There were so many recipes on line that I mixed my own. The tumble lube Xlox. Mixed well with the bees wax will test it in a couple of days With new cast 170 gr flat point bullets.
Had a tooth cap break at lunch. So will be watching others eat turkey. I’ll eat pumpkin pie 🥧
I will lead family worship of thanksgiving.
Happy thanksgiving to all.

Had an hour long phone conversation with Greg from Cimmaron yesterday. Ended up spending almost $12,000 of somebody else's money. I'll just say it was rather fun. Got a Winchester Centennial in 50-95, a Schofield, several 1875 Outlaws, a Golden Boy in 44-40, a 58 Conversion, a Richards Mason, a Company F Texas Ranger Walker, and on and on.Heck, Mick. That's definitely a good day. :-H
Can't wait to get them in the shop. Lots of great eye candy for sure. A 1911 Commander Texas Ranger Edition with "One Riot - One Ranger" engraved on the slide is already sold just from the description. It'll be almost like an early Christmas when they hit the door Monday and Tuesday.
November kicked my ass, oh #saleslife you fickle wench...
Today I sent down the road 66% of my entire November. Feeling strong about December, the two 13 hour days in a row, not withstanding.
Mining hire on bonus still sounds good, and the schedule makes me ween, but. I freaking love the realtionship building this gig creates.
Life is good tonight. Corb Lund coursing through the bedroom stereo, 3 day weekend (If I can force myself to take what I've earned... :nocomment:) coming up.
Might pick the nipples on the stainless, recap, and go fire off 6 more (4 raw loadings) and utilize the Canon tomorrow.
"Shooting porn" if I do, both BP sub, and Canon.
I don't post much anyway but I have not posted anything at all lately because I haven't been able to lift my arm to type. A few weeks ago I dislocated my right shoulder and tore my bicep muscle. I'm afraid I may never be able to shoot right handed again. Hopefully I will be able to do more as I recover. Going to try to get a photo together for the banner contest if we decide to have it this year.Bum deal, Mike. That's certainly uncomfortable stuff but it's not necessarily forever. It can take a year or more to heal up but you might be able to get back in the running. I've done the same thing (torn bicep previously and now a fractured/dislocated/torn right shoulder) and right now after about 5 months I have almost full range of motion and can hold an 8" pistol at arms length for 3 or four cycles of the action. Double handed, I can actually get some shooting in as long as I have a post to rest against. Right after I did it, I couldn't move my arm more than 3 inches. I had to get a cortisone shot to get past the initial discomfort so I could get the range of motion freed up. Now it's a matter of building back the strength. Those muscles atrophy fast. Stay with it but don't over-do it. Listen to the Doc, stay positive and you'll do fine.

I got about 140.00 raise on disability so I treated myself to a new gun cleaning kit. I paid more than I wanted but I got tired of threads stripping on plastic jags. This one has brass jags and patch loops. I rarely use the loops but the jags are nice and the rod is brass.

Moving 8 inches of fresh snow. With a badly behaving back. I don't regret one cent that I spent on my snowblower.
Just what is this "snow" thing you're talking about? I shoveled lots of sunshine today.....back feels just fine!
This is the first year we haven't seen it here in Tucson.....yet.... Tombstone got some that actually stayed almost 24 hours in the shady areas. The desert is beautiful with a light blanket of snow.....and it's usually all gone on a couple of hours, that's the best part. Still snow in the mountains.....and it can stay there. If I need to see it, I'll just take the 45 minute drive to check it out. But it usually looks good enough from my back patio. :)Nice Mick, You may have just guaranteed you will have snow. Winter isn't over.....yet? L@J

+1 on that Irish Whiskey..
Those look might cool, Dave. Are those tires on the wheels good to use or do you have some rubber ones?
That's awesome Dave. I never saw a track with pigs and geese in the infield. I did race on a dirt track with football goal posts tho. What kind of mold do you use for the bodies and what all goes into building a slot car?
Bored? Are you nuts? This is as fascinating as it is amazing! Your attention to detail and creativity are off the scale!
Today I made quite a lot of .36 and .44 cal wax cookies.Steamburn. That sounds great! Thank you for explaining your process.
I use a modified Gatofeo recipe: 50% bee's wax, 50% Crisco. Nothing more. The original Gatofeo has so many component that only black pepper and oregano are missing.
I have used these cookies with great success since I started shooting Cap and Balls. I place them between the powder and the lead, and if you ask, yes, I left one cylinder loaded for a very long time and there was no problem with the wax fouling the black powder; and I don't put any messy Crisco on top of the ball.
I found out that if I use 1 oz of the wax/Crisco mix and let it melt and float on top of hot water in a pot that is around 6 1/4" in diameter, once the system cools down, it gives me a disk that is exactly 1/8" thick.
I cut the .36 cockies with a .38 Special shell, and the .44 cookies with a 6.5x55 cal shell with the neck cut off below the shoulder.
I store the cookies in a small Tupperware filled with cornmeal, so they don't stick to each other.
That looks like something I could get hooked on real easy.
I re-inherited the CZ-52 she bought me in 2014, and wouldn't give up in 2022, when we separated belongings.
Do I rebarrel to 9mm, since the hotter and Kevlar piercing Czech ammo is not available, and 9mm, unless I buy the good stuff, is half the cost for shooting?
I still have the 7.62x25 parts, etc.
Or do I deal with the cost of the Yugo milsurp with Bergden primers because "as designed, is as designed"...?

With all of the things going on in the world right now (not to mention firearms) it’s difficult to get overly interested in slot cars and Caminos. You’re right though, I don’t have to read it but I do anyway. It’s just that I don’t know why.

You haven't mentioned the El Camino in a while Mick. Nice to see it's still underway. Looking great too.
I know what you mean about the money part too. Hobbies are a luxury nowadays, and expensive. Ready to run slot cars run the gamut from $40 up to well over $100. Making your own like I mostly do, isn't cheaper either. It's usually more. But it's worth it to me.
That's outstanding, Mick. Thanks for the photo. I love those early El Caminos. Does that V-8 emblem on the side mean it has the 283 or the 327 Turbo-Fire in it?
It'd going into a buddies paint shop in a week or 2......and then the cash drain really starts. That stuff has gotten ridiculous for pricing.

The best paint I've ever used was Imron. You got 3 quarts of paint and a quart of hardener for 300.00 more or less depending on color and then you had to clear coat it. You can't get it anymore tho. It was gorgeous paint tho.
Those emblems are very cool looking. I'd leave it too. Now nice it is that the larger engines are so interchangeable. I look forward to photos after you have it all painted. That's outstanding, Mick. It was a 283 car.....but that motor has been transplanted into a buddies jeep. It's a 4.8L LS now. It was cheap, and I can easily drop a bigger LS in if I feel the need, the blocks are all pretty much the same.
I'll probably just leave the 283 emblems on it.,,,,just because.
The newer paints will kill you faster than the old stuff. Full body safety suits are required to spray it. The new tech stuff is just a lot better for durability.

Imron is polyurethane and it's pretty dang durable.it was originally an aircraft paint and I think it still is. It also keeps a high gloss wet look after it dries.
Finally finished my taxes. Started the paint stripping process on the El Camino. It's a messy messy ordeal.

Well Dave.......aircraft stripper first.... the most messy way. I wanna get all I can that way and see where it ends up. As you know, I may still need to get the nooks and crannies soda blasted, but we'll see when we get there. Body is coming off to go on the Rotisserie. I wanna do it right and be able to reseal all the seams etc. Big project for a vehicle that just isn't worth that much to anyone but me.

I hear ya. But I beg to differ. That car is worth a lot now. Specially with all the work you've put into it. And now a new paint job will only make it more valuable.
You may know this already, but here's a little trick for you using the stripper. Brush it all over the part you're stripping, then cover the part in plastic. Let it sit for a for a few hours. You'll be surprised how much more paint comes off the panel. Keeping the gasses in under the plastic really kicks the stripper into high gear.
That value has gone up over the past few years.... but I'll be into it a lot more than I could get out of it. I'll never sell it....so it really doesn't matter to me. Just blessed to be able to afford this one thing in my life.Good to hear. Some things just don't have a dollar value. One of these days I'll get down there to see it.
At the speed things seem to happen around here, it'll be at least that. But if it takes less time, I'll have an excuse to make another trip when it's done. I like Tombstone a lot, anyway.

Sitting with wife in urgent care. She managed to open the surgical incision she got two weeks ago.
Kevin, That is very nice. I imagine it would be very nice to sit under especially while it's raining. Have you been living there for awhile? Nice dog too. You mentioned an Amish crew, I would reckon that you are located somewhere in Pennsylvania but I could be wrong. Thanks for the picture. It looks nice and peaceful there. Happy Labor Day!
That's nice. I wish I had enough roof to cover the swing so I could sit outside when it's raining. My stepson came down from north Indiana and spent a couple of days. It was nice to have somebody to talk to face to face.
That's a good looking roof. A covered patio or deck is really a good thing to have. The tin roof is a nice choice. Those Amish carpenters do some good work.

Really not big enough to justify two signs! I mean the only reason we have a traffic circle ( for as long as anyone can remember) is because the township is not big enough for a town square! That has to be small. Love those small towns.

Thank you. That is Ted. He has been with us since February. Rescued him off death row. Long story short, he adopted us and likes it here. He is on a leash because the guys working would leave the gate open and Ted is new enough he does not understand he needs to stay in the back yard.
Here he is with the rest of the gang.
Quinn is on the left, she is at least 8 or 10 years old. She came to us last year, a rescue from a bad situation. That is Ted in the middle. Seamus is the guy on the right. He is eight and been with us 8 years.
That is how they greet me everyday when I drive in the driveway.

We are in Ashtabula, County, Ohio. The northeast corner of the state. Our Amish Community is about the 4th largest in the US. Our neighbors are good folk, slow to accept new people, but good folks.
We have been here 2 years. Not fully accepted, but “tolerated”. Herself and I will die here. It is a small farming community. I have asked the trustees to post a new sign,
“Welcome to Hartsgrove!
Good bye”
Really not big enough to justify two signs! I mean the only reason we have a traffic circle ( for as long as anyone can remember) is because the township is not big enough for a town square!
Ernie Ford sang about a hick town, “one filling station where nobody stops, a general store and a barber shop,…”, very much describes Hartsgrove! We love it here.

Americans are the most generous people in the history of the world, since forever. They won’t get any credit for it though. Still, altruism is good; you did good, Strawhat. The man can’t afford to even feed himself but he keeps five dogs and a litter of puppies. Does anyone see a mental problem there somewhere?

Oh yea, went shooting, again. Second time since Wednesday. Those coffee cans don’t stand a Chinaman’s chance. I ain’t over C&B pistols by a long shot (pun intended). At this point it’s looking to be a life long interest. Ya think? I’ll go out at least once a week - usually more. Haven’t shot a modern firearm in six months.
It appears there are those that BP is a "thing". For some of us, it's most definitely become a lifelong obsession. Problem with the first group is once they've cleaned a few BP guns, they decide it's no longer a "thing". Hence, the crickets.

I've been thinking about it for awhile and saving what I could every month. I'm going to bite the bullet next month. The Woodsrunner is supposed to be the easiest to build. Got out my S&W Model 14 K frame (formally Target Masterpiece) the other day and did fifty over at the range. It’s a 6 inch. I tend not to use it double action much. I like to cock-aim-fire single action style.
Good photo, Shooter. What weight of bullet are those? What type and amount of powder did you use?
Nope. I don’t do Faceberg.
Loaded up 100 rounds of .45 LC.Shouldn't you be loading some 45/70 for that new 86 you just got?
Feels good to be back in the saddle again.

We're going to need a report on how it shoots!.

This morning I overcame my own inertial forces by dipping over to the local Sheriff’s range. A matter of classical Newtonian mechanics and all that. Took a trusty 1860, a Browning .22 semi auto and a big thermos of coffee. I was the only one there. After a couple of hours, three young guys showed up with black rifles. They were polite and cordial safe shooters and set up for 200 yards. They shot good. I overheard them discussing whether Texas might admit California residents into their National Guard for a little border duty and thought yeah, good, these guys know the thing. Don’t you wish everyone did?
The 1860 that I brought was a Pietta from 1997, bought new that year. It’s the mod with scoop flutes. Twenty-seven years of steady shooting. It performed flawlessly. It and the Browning are
clean again, now. The thermos is empty. As ever, I had me a ball.
I had muh sail foam along but there wasn’t much to photograph. I don’t use paper targets except on a brand new piece and I’ve posted photos of both guns I used and of the range already. Nothing new on the Western Front with those. Today I was wackin gong and coffee cans; not much by way of visuals. If I don’t have a pig or a violent felon handy those will be the preferred targets.
Because as Newton once (famously) said, "an object at rest tends to remain at rest".
Clydesdale. Checked out your site. You have some very nice photos on there. BTW. If I may be so bold, the "This Is Me" tab?, Maybe use a larger font? It's a bit difficult to read. Just an opinion sir and not a criticism. Thanks for posting the link.
Cool site and nicely laid out, nice pics.
Very nice photography! You have an eye for it.
4x4 !
Thanks for the pics. Really enjoyable. Good on ya !!!
Magenta is a good sky, color. They say it’s midway between red and blue. Sometimes called fuchsia. A crepuscular/twilight tone. We get that here quite a lot. Named after the Battle of Magenta (1859). Good photo and website.
Great photos. The website is easy to navigate. You did well on that. The photos speak for themselves. Thumbs-up!
Not to detract from Rocky's passing, but I printed it today. Gonna see my Publisher (the one that tasked me with this project three years ago) Either Monday or Tuesday. (if Office Depot is accurate with their projected time, Tuesday).I read the rest of it and it was interesting all the way through. Made me want to read more. Maybe add a summation of your findings to finish it off.

That's cool. I look forward to hearing it is accepted as you have it.Not to detract from Rocky's passing, but I printed it today. The idea was that this was a "writing sample" to sell the publisher on my re-writing the whole thing. Dropped it off today, and now we wait...
Great concept and mostly good pictures.
The chairman of the English Department, at a pretty good school I once attended, told the class that to become a decent writer one has to be prepared to throw away 90% of what they write.
Photography is more your forte. You’re good at that.
